About Jennifer

come with me on this journey!

After my husband passed away in 2022, I realized that I was living mindfully, but not really living. He was a builder and I had a real estate license to buy and sell his properties. This allowed me to be somewhat of a stay-at-mom and make an income. He was the bill payer, the guy who got house repairs, the car buyer, the negotiator of all things we did, and much, so much, more.

I often said when he was alive that I felt like one of our kids (there are two). I did not feel like an adult and one of my biggest fears was something happening to him, which came true.

A month after he died, I was on the phone with an accountant telling me I owed a large amount of back-taxes, when I heard my son yelling downstairs. There was water pouring through my dining room ceiling. I had stepped out of the shower to take the accountant’s call and that water was in my dining room.

When I was having that shower fixed, we went to the basement shower, and that shower started leaking too. I was selling two properties of his, selling his truck to have immediate money, I was fixing showers, hiring lawyers, going to probate court, trying to figure out if I owed giant hospital bills, and how to get into accounts for house bills – all of which ended up being in arrears. I had two teenagers who missed their dad, and I felt like I best go get a job, or else.

To say I was stressed was an understatement. My life turned into one giant to-do list.

Mindfulness at this time, literally, saved me. All my training over the years was my saving grace during this time. But, I also came to realize that I had to look at every part of my life as a practice in listening to my inner voice as a practice in mindfulness.

If I didn’t, I was going to hurt my health, my finances, my future love life, my ability to play and have fun, and my ability to be kind to others. My situation is rougher than XYZ’s, right???

I am on a journey of discovering a completely new person. I have to be different, but I also want to be a different person.

I saw what can happen on a random Tuesday, I realize how precious each present moment really is, and how my intuition and drive to be happy can help me make better decisions.
